7 pounds，虽然整个故事有些伤感 & confuse，但是确实还挺适合我这种圣诞节假期无聊至极，生活在经济危机中的人看看的。觉得心里挺暖和的。

今天上班实在无聊，在上完了所有值得一看的网站之后（大概用了半天吧），终于做了点有意义事。 

 

Rhino的grasshopper应该是近期的建模软件中，比较适合只有建筑设计学习背景的设计师（数学比较滥，又不会写程序）使用的。正如人有DNA一样，每一个geometry也有自己的code，在他们之间建立一个连接，input data，output form。也算是我对parametric modeling一点认识。

 

另，Gehry的Digital Project更加强大，可惜很难买到。

从来不关心政治的我抱着猎奇的心态看了刚刚结束的Democratic National Convention，感触颇深。
从边看杂志边看直播，到把电视音量开到很大，全神贯注于演讲的每一句话；从不认识Joe Biden到被他的演讲，生平和人格所吸引，甚至感动，一个正直，坚强，勇敢的——儿子、父亲、祖父、议员、副总统，让我在短短一个小时的时间真正感受到了美国政治的自由，民主与魅力，美国的大选不是在选总统，而是在选一个真诚的，值得信赖的人。

小学的时候全校组织观看人代会的讲话，学生集体“昏倒”。
大学的时候选举学校代表，同学看着老师留在黑板上的几个名字...大眼瞪小眼。“我就选他了，名字好写”，一个人说。

纪录Joe演讲中的一句话，“当今在美国辛劳工作的人们需要担心他们以前从来没有担心过的问题...他们节衣缩食，精打细算，仍然无力负担昂贵的医药费，油费，房屋贷款，孩子的学费...” 这......好像是中国的现状？？！！Democratic今年竞选口号是“CHANGE”，美国人民意识到美国需要改变，其实中国更加需要，当全中国还在欢庆成功举办奥运的时候，当中国的经济发展还貌似维持在很高的速度的时候。

 

 

游戏规则：

昨天午饭后与朋友在Union SQ闲逛，正好赶上flee market，有点像国内的农贸市场。老远就盯上一件东西，在一个卖镜框和各类图片的摊位上。径直上前，看了许久，并问了价钱...
心想这东西送人有点奇怪，在与店家聊了几句后便离开了。
朋友道:“没想到你还是赫本的粉丝啊！？”

 

 

1，学校毕业典礼，父母来美探望。
他们比两年前老了许多...
妈妈还是那么唠叨，整天没完没了的说这说那，所说的内容从“学习”变成了“生活”，从“成绩”变成了“身体”。
爸爸还是那么忙，纽约和大连之间又添了一条热线电话。他的教诲不再那么直言不讳，都只是点到为止，当然威力丝毫不减当年。
大瀑布，华盛顿，大峡谷，拉斯韦加斯...那是开心，忙碌的三个礼拜。

 

2，幸运抽到H1B，可以无忧的在美工作三年（在不被fire或layoff的前提下）。

凌晨3点在自己的小黑屋里看完《颐和园》，有一句值得记下的话。“...他们说这是不道德的，我觉得两个人在一起才是道德的...”

电影很真实，发觉自己有几分像女主角，也有几分男主角。六四的时候，他们在大学，我好像在小学。工作了，我们都在迷茫。

 

搬出姑姑家，结束学业，开始工作，这三件事算是自己在纽约生活的日子真正开始了。昨天第一次做饭，两块牛排，一份菜叶，一碗米饭，感觉还不错，希望能把自己做饭的好习惯坚持下去。

 

工作逐渐步入正轨，事情也自然多了，唯一的问题是自己英文太滥(what can I say?)。上周疯狂加班，在两周内的工作时数再创新高。虽然身体疲惫，但是有加班费的支撑，一切都不重要了。“让暴风雨来得更猛烈些吧！”

 

认识了很多新朋友，学到很多。“前途是光明的，道路是曲折的。”貌似丰富的生活，换来内心的空虚。朋友多，却寂寞...

至于那篇不知所云的文章，我觉得还是删掉的好。原因之一是，本人本来就不是个善于用语言表达思想的人，整篇东西写得有点吓人，与本意不符，还导致很多朋友的担心，很过意不去。原因之二当然就是我已经康复了。

 

 

春季刚刚结束，忙完了毕业展览...

同学都毕业了，我还有一个summer，郁闷...

贴图成功！是一门课的一个作业，parametric model，注意那些小红点，一拽的话整个房子都会跟着动。

 

 

 

今天去了Steven Holl的办公室，在那里pinup，之后他带我们参观了整个工作室，收获颇丰。

 

[1] 首先要记录一下的是L型的门，挺好玩的。然后是在同一个直线上的几个门，Steven说，当把门都打开的时候就会有贯通的视线，在一个视野中产生多重空间叠加的效果（谁都知道，真正去做的就没几个了）。

 

[2] 四个大的项目在中国同时进行，北京那个大家都知道，深圳的、南京的和成都的可能就鲜为人知了，总之在中国他们就开始糊整。当然包括Rem、Zaha、Steven都在进行着非常ambitious（有抱负？）的项目，“把中国当成一张白纸？”。显然他们不是针对中国：看到Steven工作室里的住宅方案（在Istanbul），原来他们把世界上任何一个有可能用来当作实验田的地方都用来当作实验田了。也许在这些明星建筑师正在crazy reproduction（可能用这个词不太合适，因为Steven自己也说“我不愿意做一样的东西”，但是我们还是能发现一些蛛丝马迹，所以在不同的方案里大师总会留下自己的signature，这可能在某种程度上是人们不可避免的与自己发生的consistency（一致性？）？）的同时，他们已经开始退出的历史的舞台。

 

[3] 送我们每人他的两本书，上面都有他的签名“S. Holl”（读起来比较搞笑啦，哈哈哈哈），不错。

 

[4] 最后一个问题是：建筑师是否应该能预测自己作品中的神奇效果（mysterious effect）？个人意见：一般来说“神奇效果”是不能被预测的，一旦在设计过程中发现了这个东西，是否应该让这一点颠覆整个之前的过程？Steven显然认为应该关注于那些suggestive moment（灵光一现）。我也同意这个说法，毕竟这种时刻能激发人的想法，但真正想发展下去就没那么容易了，坚持住的就是牛人！！！当你真正遇到自己不熟悉的东西的时候，探索下去应该是非常有趣，而且会使你进步。从这点上讲，保持不断的前进，Corbusier是一个目前无人能敌的大师级啦。其实在这里又在一定程度上牵扯到了“陌生化”的问题，这学期的一门课rethinking form正好讲到这里，一门好课，长了很多见识。

今天TA通知了出行的具体安排，先去Iowa_爱荷华州，再去巴西Rio de Janeiro_里约热内卢，无缘伦敦，下次吧，总有机会的。

 

这学期选了Steven Holl的studio，还要去挺多地方，主要根据地是伦敦。spring semester是columbia的最重要的一个semester，大部分studio都有出国考察的机会，这学期studio可以去的地方：迪拜、爱尔兰、冰岛、上海、埃及、哈萨克斯坦、马德里、罗马、伦敦...

 

马清运今年也在columbia代课，是做上海的一个项目，而且有部分时间是和同济大学的学生合作，有很多外国和台湾的学生选择这个studio，出乎意料啊！

 

这学期的一个seminar，叫Rethinking Form，超级恐怖，要挂了!!!

一个学期没有更新了，一是因为没有时间，二是因为懒吧。这周一凌晨，在经过两天苦战之后终于完成最后一个作业（一段maya动画），同时也宣告本学期的结束。在家里过了近一周猪一般的生活，觉得应该在space上写点什么了。

回头想来，这个学期一直疲于奔命，有太多的有意思的东西可以学，苦于自己能力有限……所以我建议一些想出国的同学一定先储备足够的知识，不一定要急着出来，做好准备是必要的。

我觉得以下两点尤其重要，也是我的努力目标。

:: 顺利的读英文文章。

:: 能快速学习和掌握以前完全不懂的东西。 

经过这个学期，初步掌握了maya的基本操作，对script有了比较粗浅的认识（大概知道用程序生成是怎么一回事了），而且有幸跟大师Frampton“交流”过几次，不错不错！

没话了，再贴点儿照片吧。

开学一周了，最大的问题显然是语言，各种地区的人讲着各种地区的英语，要命啊！

课程01：studio

当然这是最重要的一门课，9学分。选了一个年轻的女老师，研究数字设计和材料的，不知道会走向什么方向，不过一开始就给了一堆书（两天看完，然后上课讨论，我跟本看不完。）这学期的学习过后应该会一些scripting（编程）的东西了。

 课程02：历史

虽然最后没选，但是这是一门值得一听的课，讲的是西方建筑史1660-1860。虽然上课的时候听不太懂，但是通过课后阅读会发现这里的历史课和同济卢老师的课不太一样。这里的课一次将近三个小时，只关注与一两个人的活动，所有材料都围绕这一两个中心人物展开，内容不仅限于建筑，包括其他很多领域，当然要求的阅读量很大，我只能drop了。

 课程03：Frampton

总之这个老头讲话听不懂，几乎是都听不懂，不但有着严重的口音，而且涉及内容太为生僻，估计他讲中文我都听不懂。

这回的题目是：Comparative Critical Analysis of Building Form，每次课比较两个他认为类似的两个建筑，然后讨论。估计这是本年度本人最累的一门课了…

 课程04：Fundamentals of Digital Design

不多说了，是学Maya的。

 还有很多需要去听的课……

 顺便提一下，开学前跟姑姑一家一起去纽约上州，玩漂流的时候差点挂了……至今惊魂未定。那天下着小雨，水流很急，在一片满是暗礁的地方一个巨大颠簸（其实也不太大，因为其他人都没事），我就落水了，马上就被冲了好远，速度很快，很容易碰到石头骨折，碰得不好就挂了（事后才知道）……船上的人拼命朝我这边划，我也朝他们那边游（不过没什么用，水流得超快），最后终于到了船边，被教练拽了上去……据说5年之中没有类似事件，哈哈哈，安然无恙就好！

 总之哥大感觉不错，而且比较容易近来，可能是因为没有奖学金的原因吧。想来的都能来！
